Volunteer with the Barber

The Barber Institute of Fine Arts currently offers volunteering opportunities to University of Birmingham students, looking to gain meaningful work experience in the arts and heritage sector.

Volunteer with the Learning and Engagement team

As the Barber's galleries are now closed until 2026, volunteering opportunities will be available for offsite events in locations across the campus, as well as a few in the city.

We're still accepting new student volunteers, so if you are interested in learning more about how museums interact with the community – working with students, families, older people, schools, or the public – we would love to hear from you.

Please be in touch with the team at [email protected] with the subject line ‘UoB Student Volunteer’ and the team will get back to you.
