The Barber is just three miles from the centre of Birmingham – we encourage our visitors to use public transport, walk, or cycle where possible.

Paid visitor parking is available Monday- Sunday at North East multi-storey car park. At weekends and Bank Holidays, paid visitor parking is available across campus. For more information and tariffs see the car/parking tab below.
Getting here by car
Take the A38 (Bristol Road), turning onto Edgbaston Park Road, where you will see the Barber at the top of the hill on the left, at the East Gate of campus (or see other routes).
Parking
Visitor parking is available Monday - Sunday in the University’s multi-storey North-East Car Park, accessed via Pritchatts Road (first road off Edgbaston Park Road to the left, after the Barber – sat-nav postcode B15 2SA).
Please note: there is no lift at North-East Car Park; pedestrian access between levels is solely via stairs or following the car route.
With the exception of designated accessible parking, visitor parking is not available elsewhere on campus between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. Paid parking across campus is available at weekends and Bank Holidays.
Monday - Friday Tariff (North East Car Park)
Chargeable Period is Monday - Sunday 8am - 6pm. This now includes weekends, Bank Holidays and University closed days. Parking at the University of Birmingham is free of charge after 6pm.
Weekend Tariff (across campus)
Parking at the weekend and Bank Holidays is permitted not only in the NE multi storey but across campus, charged at a £2.50 flat day rate (chargeable hours are 8am - 6pm)

Register with RingGo to pay via your credit/debit card on your mobile phone. Location Code for Non-Permit Holders is 15677

Payment in Cash
There are payment machines available in the multi storey for those who prefer a cash option, these are located on floors 1-5
Other parking options (weekends only)
Other centrally located payment machines for use at weekends only are:
Running Track car park (opposite the Teaching & Learning building)
Grange Road car park (next to the sports pitches)
These are charged at the weekend tariff of £2.50 for the day.
These car parks will accept payment via cash, card or RingGo (please check the RingGo location code on the signage in each car park).
