Bass-baritone Frederick Long leads the battle of a man against the elements, with poetry and music exploring his relationship with the natural world, and with his own nature itself.

Featuring rare Schubert songs written specifically for bass voice, strikingly personal responses to English verse by Shostakovich, and rich settings from Muriel Herbert and Jonathan Dove.
