Join exhibition curator Robert Wenley and catalogue writers Professor Helen Cowie and Dr Samuel Shaw as they present their contributions to Miss Clara and the Celebrity Beast in Art, 1500 – 1860.
This in-depth research, in support of the exhibition publication, will explore themes and satellite conversations such as the definitions of a ‘celebrity beast’, their representation in art and imagery, and the development of menageries and zoos within colonialism and empire.
Hosted as a zoom webinar, there will be an exhibition introduction and a Q&A.
