The Barber’s first concert season
Here you can view a selection of concerts programmes from our first concert season in 1945/46, including reviews by Birmingham Post of our first concert on 5 November 1945. This concert season was opened by the Philharmonia Quartet with the programme of works:
- String Quartet in F major by Maurice Ravel (1875 – 1937)
- String Quartet in A major, F.23 by Arthur Bliss (1891 – 1975)
- String Quartet in D minor ‘Voces intimae’, Op 56 by Jean Sibelius (1865 – 1957)
