Clipper Erickson – piano

Friday 6 December 1-1.50pm

Elgar Concert Hall, Bramall

A century on from its first performance, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue feels as fresh as ever, with driving rhythms and captivating melodies blending jazz and classical. Coleridge-Taylor’s Deep River is a rhapsody on the spiritual melody and Florence Price was a trailblazer as the first female African-American recognised as a symphonic composer.
