Recovery Art

Inspired by subjects, media and techniques seen in the Barber’s collection, by their own ideas and experiences of recovery and by the technical processes themselves, members of the Barber’s Recovery Art group have created exciting new original work in many media.  This is a process that has proven sociable, creative and cathartic.

First formed in early 2013, the Recovery Art group has provided an invaluable space for people recuperating from physical or mental health issues – including drug and alcohol addiction – and here stages its third annual exhibition.  Works in this year’s exhibition explore painting, sculpture and printmaking and are accompanied by insights from the group,  written in their own words.
