NEW WRITER-IN-RESIDENCE ANNOUNCED

Jacqui Rowe is appointed the Barber's writer-in-residence

Born in Birmingham, where she still lives,Jacqui Rowe is a poet, publisher, mentor, workshop leader, independent literature producer, a tutor for the Poetry School and Poetry Editor for the Writers' Workshop. She has had three pamphlet collections of poetry published as well as some short fiction and she has also had training in screen writing. She works extensively on making poetry with people with dementia.

A new Director has been appointed for the Barber Institute, as it prepares to celebrate the 80th anniversary of its foundation. Nicola Kalinsky, currently Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, National Galleries of Scotland, will take up her duties as sixth Director of the Barber Institute on 14 January 2013, following the departure earlier this year of Professor Ann Sumner.
