GROUP VISITS & TOURS

Group Visits

We offer guided tours and introductory talks to visiting groups. Find out more about our collections and exhibitions, the building and the Barbers themselves, from our friendly tour guides. You’ll be treated to a wealth of insider knowledge and interesting anecdotes and have the chance to ask questions.

Led by our experienced guides, tours can accommodate up to 25 people, with a maximum of two groups at a time.

Please book at least 4 weeks in advance of your visit. Tours cost £6 per person, and payment can be made on the day, by cash or card or by cheque made payable to University of Birmingham.

All tours last 1 hour.

We can provide tea, coffee and biscuits at a cost of £2.95 per head.  The University campus has a variety of places to eat, which offer everything from light lunches to three-course meals.

Please contact Alex Jolly, Learning and Engagement Assistant on 0121 414 2261 or email learning@barber.org.uk to book your visit or for further details.

Why not make a day of it and visit nearby Winterbourne House and Garden – a delightful Edwardian family home and remarkable Arts & Crafts-style botanic garden, with pleasant tea-room and terrace? www.winterbourne.org.uk

Self-Guided Tours

You are welcome to make a self-guided tour with your group. Please help us prepare for your visit and avoid overcrowding by booking at least 7 working days before you arrive.

Sunday Guided Tours

Introductory Sunday gallery tours take place on the second and fourth Sunday of each month (excluding August and University closed days).  All tours last an hour and are FREE — meet in the foyer. No booking required.

To book or for more information, contact Alex Jolly, Learning and Engagement Assistant, on 0121 414 2261 or email learning@barber.org.uk.
