We offer guided tours and introductory talks to visiting groups. Led by our experienced guides or curatorial staff, tours can accomodate upto 25 people, with a maximum of two groups at a time.
Groups are advised to book at least 4 weeks in advance of their visit. There is a charge of £4 per head, and payment can be made on the day, by cheque made payable to University of Birmingham.
All tours last approximately 1 hour.
We can provide tea, coffee and biscuits at a cost of £2.20 per head for all group bookings. The University campus has a variety of places to eat, which offer everything from light lunches to three-course meals. Sunday Guided Tours
Sunday gallery tours usually take place on the second and fourth Sunday of each month (excluding August, closed days and 18 October & 25 November). Find out more about our collections and exhibitions, the building and the Barbers themselves, from our friendly tour guides. You’ll be treated to a wealth of insider knowledge and interesting anecdotes and have the chance to ask questions. All tours last an hour and are FREE — meet in the foyer under Lady Barber’s portrait.
Audio-Descriptive gallery tours
Audio descriptive gallery tours for Blind and Partially Sighted Visitors. Special tours of our magnificent collections can be arranged for groups of 8 or more with our fully-trained guides.
