Dunedin Consort: Apollo and Daphne

Wednesday 6 February, 7.30pm

Dunedin Consort: Apollo and Daphne
John Butt
conductor
Rowan Pierce soprano
Matthew Brook bass

No Early Music festival would be complete without paying homage to George Frideric Handel. Leading Scottish Baroque ensemble Dunedin Consort do just that with a programme that includes Handel’s 1709-10 Cantata ‘ Apollo and Daphne’, a work that was indicative of the great operas that followed. Soloists Rowan Pierce and Matthew Brook take to the stage in the eponymous roles of this Greek Myth.
