THE COIN COLLECTION: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

Coin Collection Study Day

Nine papers from established academics and current and future PhD students – covering eighth-century iconoclasts, through mediaeval divine images and the antique Persian world, to Byzantine coin finds in India and Sri Lanka – will demonstrate the wealth of ideas developed from the Barber’s coin collection.

After each session, you will have the opportunity to view and handle up to 5 coins from each paper, as well as a guided tour of the current exhibition Excavating Empire during the lunch break.
