Siglo de Oro join us for the first of two concerts at the University this spring with a programme that weaves together a musical history of the Reformation and Counter-reformation with works by Josquin, Tye, Sheppard, Byrd, Palestrina and Victoria. Often written with political overtones – these pieces illustrate the religious fervour and reforming zeal of 16th century Europe.
